COAF nakiisa sa pagdiriwang ng National Rice Month

Upang paigtingin ang kamalayan ng mga magsasaka, mamimili at mag-aaral na pahalagahan ang mga lokal na bigas kaysa mga iniaangkat, ikinasa ng Kagawarang Pang-agrikultura ang pagdiriwang ng National Rice Month na ginanap noong Nobyembre 5 hanggang 6 sa Iloilo City.


"Buy Local. Eat Local. Suport Our Rice Farmers” ang tema ng naturang programa na dinaluhan ng mahigit kumulang 150 na mga magsasaka, mamimili at mag-aaral mula sa iba’t ibang pamantasan at lugar sa rehiyon VI.

Ayon kay Department of Agriculture (DA) Western Visayas Regional Executive Director Remelyn R. Recoter, ang pagdiriwang ay kasabay ng kasalukuyang sitwasyon ng lokal na industriya ng bigas matapos ang pagpasa ng Rice Liberalization Act.
“The government has lifted the importation ban to reduce the market price of rice. DA has aided rice farmers especially to those who have less than one-hectare farm,” aniya.
Kaugnay nito, upang hikayatin ang lahat na tangkilikin ang mga lokal na produkto ng bansa, nagsagawa ang DA ng ilang mga aktibidad na kasangkot ang mga magsasaka, kababaihan sa kanayunan at kabataan.

Ang mga mag-aaral sa kolehiyo na kumukuha ng Bachelor of Science in Agriculture at iba pang mga kursong pang-agrikultura ay nagtagisan ng galing sa Rice Art Contest at Agri Talino Quiz Bee Challenge.
Itinanghal na kampeon sina Ivy Lyka Catimbang at Cynel Dela ng Capiz State University Pontevedra Campus sa Rice Art Contest habang inuwi naman ni Jinky Dogello ang ikatlong gantimpala at ni John Rey delos Santos and ika-apat na gantimpala  sa Agri Talino Quiz Bee.

UN'19: Oneness despite Diversity


        To promote human rights, diversity and progress across the world, the Katipunan sa Agham Tao (KAT) Organization conducted its annual United Nations Celebration with the theme, "Indigenous languages matter for sustainable development, leave building and reconciliation" at CapSU Gymnasium, last October 29.
        Participated by the whole campus, the campus administrator Dr. Mae D. Dumapig, together with the deans of the different colleges, faculty and staff, students are wearing national costumes and flaglets of their chosen country. "Manami kay nakakita ko sang saot nga subong ko lang na witness, kanami gid ya sang event masadya," said Christian Dave Rone, student from BS Agricultural and Bio-systems Engineering.
     There were national costumes and cultural dances presentation where the participants actively participated and savor the moment. "To sum it up, na amaze ako sang mga costumes kag saot, ang India gid ya ang manami. Nakakaproud ang unity dance," said Kris Cepeda, student from Hospitality Management Department. 
       The celebration focused on the unity of each individual, specifically oneness despite of one's diversity.

One CapSu,One Love: Acquaintance for Camaraderie

            To strengthen and promote camaraderie among freshmen students the CapSU Pontevedra hold its acquaintance program through the collaborative effort of SSC Officers at CapSU Gym last September 13.
            Ceremonial parade had been carried out and the program started as Prof. Andy Bon Dariagan, Supreme Student Council Adviser led the praise and worship.
“May this event help you, not just socially but also spiritually,”said Professor Dariagan.
To highlight the celebration the SSC officers with the synergy of minor organizations prepared a series of stimulating contests. In the yells competition, the Hospitality Guild nabs the first place. They also clinched the victory for winning in PPOP Competition. Movie Trailer and CapSU Vlog category was steal by the BSA while the Moulders Society won the Comedy Skit category and lastly in the Foreign Singing contest was obtain by the BPEd student.
            At the end, a one day allotted for the program was worthwhile promoting grand camaraderie of Capsunian students.


SEA TVET: READY TO UNVEIL

      Internalization plans have always brought opportunities not just for school but especially to the students. It usually caters understanding of cultural differences, bridges gaps of racism, catalyzes the promotion of global interconnectedness, and enhances good relations through better communication.
          23rd day of the ninth month; the weekly Flag Ceremony of Capiz State University, Pontevedra Campus was even more brightened by two foreigners in their blue long sleeves uniform.
       Introduced by Dr. Judel V. Protacio, dean of the College of Education, Arts, and Sciences (COEAS), the two visitors approached with a smile, stood on the stage of the quadra.


PAGPANGABI-ABI 2019

                 Aiming to give opportunity to meet each other, allowing students both new and old to mingle and acquaint themselves is the purpose of the Pagpangabi-abi 2019 held at CapSU Gymnasium, August 8-9.

             Spearheaded by the Supreme Student Council, a two day event nourishes the spiritual, physical and social aspect of the students.

           "Bilang isang bagong estudyante sa Capsu Pontevedra ay labis akong namangha sa naipamalas at naipakita ng bawat organisasyon dahil sa pagtutulungan nila sa bawat isa. PAGKAKAISA at PAG-UUNAWAAN ang dapat nating bigyan ng kahalagahan tungo sa magandang kinabukasan," said Rosemarie YbaƱez a second year teacher-education transferee.

 This event allows the students to be able to function better, as they will become more comfortable with interacting with the people around them.

"Nakabulig ang event na ito para makilala ko ang iban nga student sa iban na course kag nakabuild sang unity paagi sa hampang nga teambuilding," said Kris Cepeda, a freshman student from Hotel Management Department.

The event paves way to open the mind and heart of the students both old and new ones and enable them to build relationships and interactions with school activities.
