Capiz
State University Pontevedra Campus holds a joint team-building activity, and
Faculty and Employee Appreciation Day with a theme, “Pagpaambit kag Paghiliusa:
Isa ka Pamilya nga Nagabuylog kag Naga-ululupod para sa Serbisyo sang
Tagsa-tagsa,” on September 29, 2022, at CapSU Pontevedra gymnasium.
Dr.
Honey Lee E. Casa, the Campus Administrator, delivered her opening remarks
focusing on the significance of holding a Family Day as an opportunity for everyone
to reflect on the importance of spending quality time with our co-workers and
colleagues.
The
Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Susan O. Dangan, served as the
resource speaker who talked about the value of family cohesiveness.
“No matter how
small you can be, as part of the organization, you can always share to make
your organization rich and to make your family rich. Hindi man lang sa mga material things we can
measure the richness, the happiness of a family. Healthy family cohesion is our
strength as a family,”
Dr. Dangan said.
The
University President, Dr. Editha C. Alfon, served as the inducting officer of
the newly elected Teachers and Employees Association (TEA).
“I know that you
are working so hard for the improvement of the university. We are well known in
the Top 10 for having the most number of accredited programs and we will hope
we can maintain the standard. They are working for the ISO re-certification of
our university and we are enjoying the fruits of our labor for having our board
examinees in the top 10,” Dr.
Alfon said during her inspirational message.
The
newly hired personnel and the retirees were presented by Dr. Pet Roana B.
Batacandolo, HRMO Designate. Certificates and a token were awarded to the
retirees as a gesture of appreciation for the meritorious and dedicated
services rendered to the university.
The
newly inducted TEA President, Dr. Rossandrew B. Villaruel, gave his message to the
retirees and Prof. Danilo Dillera responded on behalf of the retirees.
“To all of you, our
retirees, congratulation! Capiz State University, specifically, Pontevedra, is
always open to you, and CapSU is always grateful for the services that you have
rendered. You are part of our family,”
Dr. Villaruel stated.
Meanwhile,
Dr. Carmelo Adrian Almeida, Medical Officer III, did the health check and
discussed some of the common illnesses and their underlying symptoms. He
emphasized that he is always open to catering to the consultation needs of the
faculty and staff.
Finally,
during team building activities, Laro ng Lahi games were prepared. There were four
(4) color-coded groups competing. In the Cheer Dance competition, Red Team was
declared champion, while Yellow Team won in Sack Race and Dakop2 Baboy. Blue Team
was hailed overall champion as the team emerged victorious in Tug of War, Saw-a
Itlog Ko, and Crab Tying.
