CapSU expands internationally through a 14-day short course program

As part of the internationalization and student mobility initiatives of the university, Capiz State University-Pontevedra Campus goes international through a 14-day short course program spearheaded by Universitas Ahmad Dahlan-Indonesia from February 4 to February 23

Thirteen students were awarded certificates and academic transcripts after completing the virtual program on Indonesian Legal Systems about Continental Law, Customary Law, and Islamic Law.

"The lecture on Indonesian Legal System paved the way for me to gain knowledge of their legal systems and how it works and understand the rights and responsibilities of their citizens and authorities as well. All of which I can use and share with my students if the stars were to align and light my path and become a licensed teacher in the near future," Carlos Geant Francisco, one of the participants said.

Aizavel Dordas affirmed Francisco's statement by stating that gaining information about Indonesia became one of the driving forces to connect our own culture with their culture.

"What really stamped into my mind and what I’ve appreciated is the kindness that the Indonesian people showed and made us feel. I also realized that engaging on this digital platform taught me that it is not impossible to learn something and to gain something within the digital world," she added.

Dr. Jereline De Pablo, External Affairs and Linkages Campus Chair, said that with the desire of the university to be in the global arena, CapSU Pontevedra once again accepted the invitation and grabbed the opportunity to learn and understand the culture, norms, and practices of Malaysia and Indonesia.

"This paved way for the CAPSUNIANS to gain international experience/exposure as they navigate efficiently on the language and collaborate on certain tasks," Dr. De Pablo stated.

The office of EAL also emphasized that the recently concluded program strengthened students' intercultural sensitivity which has become a significant milestone for them.

Love conquers all

Every one of us has an exceptional someone in our lives. It doesn't matter if it's a significant other, companion, or relative. We all have someone, or several individuals, that we truly stand in awe of.

On the other hand, how often do we remember to genuinely reveal our warmth and sentiment for these folks? Valentine’s day is about more than romance, intimacy, and affection. It’s not all about a huge bouquet of red roses, a bundle of the sweetest chocolates, or even extravagant gifts. There’s no exact platform for expressing appreciation and gratitude. As long as it shares little resemblance of endearment, it matters the most.

Moreover, may this Valentine’s season remind us of God's gift to humanity. The true essence of God’s benevolence is in our hearts. He loves us unconditionally and continues to love us until the end of time. A kind of love that has no strings attached to it.

Love conquers everything, love conquers all.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
