Musikultura de Pontevedra Chorale member, Cherry Joy Bañes, was hailed first runner-up in the Bugal sang Capiz Municipal Level -The Search for Capiz’ Singing Ambassador 2023, OPM Category held at the Municipal Lobby, 2nd Floor Municipal Hall Building, Pontevedra, Capiz on March 07.
"I
never expected to win 1st runner-up because I was not really prepared. I feel
blessed not only because I won, but also because I am surrounded by my very
supportive family as well as my fellow chorale members and our advisers," Bañes said.
Furthermore, the
Municipality of Pontevedra through the Municipal Tourism Office spearheaded the
activity and invited the Musikultura de Pontevedra Chorale to perform
preliminary songs and intermission numbers.
During the afternoon
session, the representative for the regional contest for Short-and-Sweet Play
Musical was also invited to render a short performance.
"It
was a great privilege to showcase our talents not just inside, but outside the
school as well. Aside from that, this event helped us to connect with people
through music, and most importantly, it enabled us to gain a wide range of
audience that might help us in our future endeavors," Estela Bulawan, MDPC-President
stated.
The said group is
trained by Professor Marvin Catalan, MDPC Adviser, under the supervision of Dr.
Robilyn Bermil, Coordinator of Socio-cultural Affairs of CapSU Pontevedra.
