MDPC member wins 1st runner-up in OPM Category

Musikultura de Pontevedra Chorale member, Cherry Joy Bañes, was hailed first runner-up in the Bugal sang Capiz Municipal Level -The Search for Capiz’ Singing Ambassador 2023, OPM Category held at the Municipal Lobby, 2nd Floor Municipal Hall Building, Pontevedra, Capiz on March 07.

"I never expected to win 1st runner-up because I was not really prepared. I feel blessed not only because I won, but also because I am surrounded by my very supportive family as well as my fellow chorale members and our advisers," Bañes said.

Furthermore, the Municipality of Pontevedra through the Municipal Tourism Office spearheaded the activity and invited the Musikultura de Pontevedra Chorale to perform preliminary songs and intermission numbers.

During the afternoon session, the representative for the regional contest for Short-and-Sweet Play Musical was also invited to render a short performance.

"It was a great privilege to showcase our talents not just inside, but outside the school as well. Aside from that, this event helped us to connect with people through music, and most importantly, it enabled us to gain a wide range of audience that might help us in our future endeavors," Estela Bulawan, MDPC-President stated.

The said group is trained by Professor Marvin Catalan, MDPC Adviser, under the supervision of Dr. Robilyn Bermil, Coordinator of Socio-cultural Affairs of CapSU Pontevedra.
